Early Buyers of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Remakes to Get Incredibly Rare Pokemon + New Mega evolutions!

With the release of the latest trailer for the upcoming Pokemon titles, Pokemon Omega Rube and Alpha Sapphire, a few bits of information have been revealed. One piece of info revealed was already announced by Japanese magazine Corocoro, which is the inclusion of even more Mega Evolutions. Salamance, Altaria, and Lopunny are added to the ever-growing list of Pokemon set to receive Mega Evolution forms.  Their Mega Evolutions can be viewed in the trailer below.

In addition, early buyers will be able to download an incredibly rare Pokemon via Mystery Gift. This rare Pokemon is a Shiny Beldum, holding the Mega Evolution stone needed to make it’s final evolution, Metagross, Mega Evolve. To put a few numbers on how rare this Pokemon is, a Pokemon generally has an approximate 1/8192 chance of being a Shiny. In Generation VI, which the remakes belong to, the chances have increased to a “mere” 1/4096, though it’s not currently known if the remakes of the Generation III games will follow the current odds or the odds the original Generation III games had. Beldum also has a wild catch rate of 3 (not including variables) making it as difficult to catch as a majority of Legendary Pokemon in the games, if not more difficult than some Legendary Pokemon. Beldum was also  unobtainable in Pokemon X and Y, requiring the player to either breed their Metang/Metacross, or transfer a Beldum from a previous Pokemon game via Pokemon Bank. Needless to say, this is a legitimately rare Pokemon to obtain, and a highly-sought after Shiny for players.

It is worth noting that this Beldum is not a pre-order exclusive. Nor is it exclusive to players who purchase their Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games at a certain retailers. Anybody who buys a copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be able to download the Shiny Beldum until the event ends. The event does not have a set-in-stone end date as of writing.

Korean website leaks Mega Slowbro and Audino

Let's take a minute to thank the Official Korean website for leaking that Mega Slowbro and Audino are coming to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Slowbro’s been a fan favourite since gen 1 and has seen a lot of use online since X and Y so it’s great to see it get a Mega Evolution. It is a little surprising seeing Audino get a Mega Evolution since it’s the first Gen 5 Pokemon to get one.

What we currently know about these two mega’s is that Audino will be a Normal/Fairy type and will keep its healer ability while Slowbro will stay water/psychic and will gain the Shell Armour ability. The healer ability has a 30%  chance of healing Audino and his partners of status effects while Shell Armour means Slowbro is immune to critical hits.

As for Stat boosts according to Serebii Slowbro will get a further boost to its Special Attack and Special Defence turning him into a special tank while Audino will become a true tank as it gains a boost to its Defence and Special Defence.

Design-wise Mega Slowbro looks weird as the thing biting its tail is now used as armour by Slowbro as it somehow balances itself on its tail. Mega Audino’s design looks rather nice. It looks like how I’d imagine Audino would have been designed if it was designed to be a fairy type.
Regardless of your opinion on the designs it’s cool to see at Slowbro and Audino are getting a Mega Evolution. While leaks of Pokemon that turn out to be false are nothing new, the screenshots of Mega Slowbro and Audino look very real. Well that and these were leaked on the Official Pokemon website in Korea.

It’s still not known if you’ll be able to use these Mega Pokemon in X and Y. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released on November 21st.

New Revelations: Madame Pikachu and Mega Diancie

Another batch of CoroCoro reveals have arrived for "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire" and these feature interesting additions to the game.

Nintendo Life has gathered a few details on the new Pokedex where it's spotted that there will be quite a lot of Pikachus coming in for "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire."
Obtained via Serebii and a couple of Japanese forums, the information on Pikachu reveals some of them will include a Madam Pikachu, a Hard Rock Pikachu and even a Doctor Pikachu, with some of the costumes seen in the images in the link above.

And those who have enjoyed the Amie feature, which was introduced in "Pokemon X and Y," will be able to enjoy the feature once more for "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire." This basically means players will get a lot of cuddly time with their Pokemon to nurture them with more than just battle training, but also care and love.
In August, there will be a number of new information slated to be revealed, including a big haul for a "Mega Evolution Scoop."

But for now, it seems Mega Diancie will also be in "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire," with the ability Magic Bounce. There are 4 months to go before the expected release of "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire," so hopefully, the Pokemon Company and Game Freak will provide more trailers or information aside from the CoroCoro leaks.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will feature improved secret bases!

Super-Secret Bases have been confirmed for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Both games will allow players to create their own bases, where they can select and place decorations however they like. Secret bases can also be made into Pokemon Gyms and can implement user-created tricks via decorations.

Using communication features, it’s easy to connect with other players around the world to share your Secret Bases with one another. When you visit another player’s Secret Base, that base’s members will be hanging out there. You can talk to them or even battle them! If you find base owners that you like, you can scout them as one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your own Secret Base. Once you’ve become Secret Pals with someone, you can continue to have Pokémon battles against them, and also have your Pal use “special skills” to support you on your adventure.

Another fun aspect of Super-Secret Bases is a capture-the-flag activity. Examine the flag beside the Secret PC in another player’s Secret Base to obtain it! You can take one flag per day from each base visited. Visit lots of Secret Bases and collect lots of flags to improve your team’s rank and get rewards, including increasing the skills of your Secret Pals. Flag colors will change based on a team’s rank, so you can tell another team’s rank at a glance—and others can tell yours!

You can share your Super-Secret Base with Trainers all over the world! Symbolize your Secret Base with a QR Code. With a QR Code, you can get the Secret Base of a particular player you’ve been wanting to visit.

To help you get started with Super-Secret Bases, you’ll meet Secret Base Expert Aarune. Aarune and his Flygon are world travelers, bursting with excitement about the Secret Base culture in the Hoenn region. This enthusiastic adventurer will teach you all about the fun of Secret Bases during your journey.

Mega Evolutions at Pokemon ORAS: A Deeper Look at Mega Evolutions

Apart from being the anticipated remake of the Hoenn region, "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire" is looking to have quite the focus on Mega Evolutions.
In a blog post over at the official "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire" Web site, the developer details how Pokemons can actually achieve their Mega Evolution state, as not all Pokemons have this capability. At the same time, there are certain conditions that need to be met, which are just part of the mystery about how this phenomenon manifests.
"Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire tell a grand tale that draws ever closer to the heart of the secrets behind Mega Evolution, said to be the greatest mystery of the Pokemon world!" via the official Web site.

The two main conditions that need to be met as listed in the Web site are as follows:
1. The Trainer's Key Stone, worn on his or her person, must resonate with a Mega Stone held by the Pokemon.
2. There must be a strong bond between the Trainer and the Pokemon.

Note that there are Mega Stones for every Pokemon that has the capability to evolve to a Mega Evolution, with each stone having specific names. To date, 28 Mega Stones have been discovered. But given how The Pokemon Company and Game Freak have deemed it necessary to revisit the Hoenn region in "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire," there will surely be more hidden there.

Mega Sableye makes it debut, new mega evolution in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

A new day at E3, a new mega evolution it seems. The Pokemon Company just release a new clip revealing a new Mega Evolution: Mega Sableye.

According to a press release from the developer, “Sableye is a Dark- and Ghost-type Pokémon. Mega Sableye has concentrated all of the energy from Mega Evolution into the jewel which adorns its chest. Once Sableye has Mega-Evolved, this jewel will swell and become detached from its body. Mega Sableye uses the jewel as a powerful defensive tool in battle. From behind the shelter of the jewel, it can readily exploit the opponent’s weaknesses and take advantage of any openings. It is said that the jewel hardens into such strength that no attack can even make a scratch!”

The clip shows almost nothing else, but you don’t have too terribly long to wait for the full game. It will be out November 21.

Here it is:

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will bring “huge change” in battling

Pokémon series battle director Shigeki Morimoto has hinted that the arrival of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will “cause another huge change in the world of battling.”

The games follow Pokémon X and Y which introduced far more than 3D polygonal graphics last year, marking the introduction of Fairy-type Pokémon and Mega Evolution, as well as Sky Battles and Horde Encounters.

“It appears that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire have been announced!” Morimoto exclaimed on Pokémon Global Link. “I think these games are going to cause another huge change in the world of battling. They will be released in November of this year, so until then you’ll still be battling using Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.”

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will release for 3DS worldwide in November.

Pokémon Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire can already be pre-ordered

Pre-Order Pokémon Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire
With Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire being announced just last Wednesday, only one retailer — out of the seven that we regularly check — has begun accepting pre-orders for the pair of new and shiny Pokémon titles for the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles.
Starting today, fans can pre-order Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire from online retailer Newegg. The suggested retail price, as expected with most Nintendo software, is $39.99; free shipping is included, too. We haven’t spotted any Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire pre-order bonus offers, but we’re seasoned Trainers, and we will keep a watchful eye out for them.
Stay tuned for more information and don’t forget to check out our Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire news. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will launch worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS systems in November 2014.

This is good news for a fast rom release, since the more companies can leak the game, the faster a rom will appear.

Expectations for Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Within the last week, it was announced that remakes of Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire are coming this year. Since then, we've been blessed with a (very) small teaser but ultimately know absolutely nothing about the remakes or what they will bring.
So, the question is, what should we expect? That's a tricky one to answer. Remakes have always stayed true to the formula so we know the basic story and characters, but they also added new elements — so here are a few things we can reasonably expect to see.

Improved 3D Graphics

Now, this is something that we do know is coming. From the short teaser shown over the weekend, we know that the graphics are to be based on the Pokémon X & Y engine, meaning that they will be 3D again. This is certainly an exciting prospect as we haven't seen Hoenn in 9 years, since the release of Pokémon Emerald.
Hoenn is a rather unique region. Due to the strength of the Game Boy and Game Boy Color, the Kanto and Johto regions had very little visual variety. They were all grassy routes and roads, with some small islands. With the power of the Game Boy Advance, they were able to change this. Hoenn has so many unique areas; from the fiery majesty of Mt. Chimney, to the desert in Route 111, to the spookiness of Mt. Pyre, to the ash covered Route 113 and the murky underwater areas, there was certainly variety in the region.

Pokemon Omega Ruby Rom

Status May 2014:

Game Release: Announced
Expected Release Date: November 2014
Rom Status: Not available yet

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced. Watch the first trailer now!

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have shared the first gameplay glimpse of Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, the upcoming "full remakes" of Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire. According to a  brief trailer (posted above), the games will feature full 3D graphics similar to Pokemon X / Y. It is unknown at this time if the games will also feature X / Y's other gameplay invention, Mega Evolutions.

Like a normal evolution, Mega Evolutions grant a pokemon extra power and change its physical appearance. However, Mega Evolutions are temporary, and only last for a single battle. The Mega Evolution forms of pokemon who can utilize them are also not counted in the franchise's expansive pokedex.

We'll update as more information becomes available.
